The Association International Forum of Solidarity – EMMAUS (IFS-EMMAUS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina/Department for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, is marking this year’s European Day of Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
In order to raise awareness of the general public concerning the trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as of the prevention of this phenomenon, especially among children and adolescents, on October 18th, 2017 at 11:00 am, in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hall 3 / II, (address: Trg BiH 1, Sarajevo), a press conference will be held in order to reflect the current situation and activities, and inter-sectoral cooperation of relevant institutions and organizations in the field of combating trafficking in human beings.
The speakers at the Press conference will be representatives of the Ministry of Security/Department for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, the Task Force for the fight against trafficking in human beings, and the Cantonal Center for Social Work Sarajevo. The representatives of the association IFS-EMMAUS will also address to the attendees and present activities in this area. The public attention will be drawn to the problem of unaccompanied minors, as especially vulnerable category and potential victim of trafficking in human beings category, who in increasing numbers, through the immigration waves, is arriving to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the problem of abuse and violence against children in the digital environment.
Also, a letter was sent to all Ministries of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to the primary and secondary schools, with an invitation to join the initiative and to mark the European Day Against Human Trafficking, to hold a themed lessons on trafficking in human beings, to give public announcement and/or similar activities.
