The Weiler Big Cat type 27 high-density aluminum oxide abrasive flap disc has a phenolic backing for reinforcement and an unthreaded round hole for attachment to grinding tools, and is thicker than a standard disc for use on flat, irregular, and curved surfaces. The aluminum oxide abrasive is suitable for general-purpose machining. The disc produces a high-quality, consistent finish and offers a 30-40% longer life than standard flap discs. It has a flat surface and is commonly used with right-angle grinders at a 0- to 15-degree angle to dissipate heat. It has an unthreaded round hole for attachment to the grinding tool. The tool's arbor goes through the central hole in the disc for fastening.Abrasive flap discs are made from overlapping pieces of coated abrasive attached to a hub.
