On the day May 11, 2017 an assembly "Global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration" organised by the IOM, was held at the hotel Holiday in Sarajevo. On behalf of IFS-EMMAUS, Ms Amela Efendić, the head of Sarajevo office, attended the meeting. The aims of global compact on migration assembley are: to adress all aspects of international migration, to make an important contribution to global goverments and in hands coordination on international migration, to present framework for comprehensive international cooperation on migrants and human mobility, to set out a range of actionable commitments as well as means of implementation, to be guided by the 2030 agenda for substainable developments and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda and finally, to be informed by the Declaration of the 2013 high level Dialog on International Migration and Development.

One of the guiding documents at this meeting was the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, a resolution adopted on the September 19. 2016 by the General Assembley, which adresses the question of large movements of Refugees and Migrants.
